Superintendent: Update on Urgent HTSD Safety Communication

Dear Hampton school community,

Earlier this evening, you received a communication regarding HTSD being the target of a potential threat of a school shooting. Since then, multiple police agencies in the northern area have investigated and found the threat to be non-credible. In addition, the individual who made this non-credible threat has been identified, and the matter has been turned over to the police in that jurisdiction.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will still have an increased police presence at all of our school buildings tomorrow. As always, the safety and security of our students and staff remains our top priority. 

We are extremely thankful for the positive relationship we have with the Hampton Township Police Department who work diligently to investigate these serious situations in order to keep our students and staff safe.
